1. Not Medical Advice
Everything on geelagen.com is general information. It is not medical advice, it is not personalised to you, and reading it creates no professional relationship of any kind. Nothing here should be used to diagnose a condition, to decide against seeking care, or to change how you take prescribed medication.
Always speak to a qualified clinician about your own circumstances, and never delay seeking care because of something you read on a website that sells supplements — this one included.
2. Not FDA Approved, And Nothing Else Is Either
Dietary supplements in the United States are regulated under food law rather than drug law. That means no supplement from any brand is approved by the FDA, and any product claiming otherwise is misrepresenting the position.
Our manufacturing facility is registered with the FDA and operates to Good Manufacturing Practice standards. Registration means the facility is known to the regulator and open to inspection. It is not approval of what is made there, and the distinction matters enough that we repeat it on the product page too.
3. Not A Treatment For Any Condition
Gelagen supports skin, hair and nails nutritionally. It is not a treatment for acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, dermatitis, alopecia, telogen effluvium, thyroid disorders, nutrient deficiency states or any other diagnosed condition.
All of those have medical treatments and most of those treatments work. If something on your skin is painful, spreading, bleeding, changing colour or simply not resolving, that is a dermatologist rather than a gummy.
4. Specific Cautions
Vitamin A, 630 mcg per serving. Do not take Gelagen if you are pregnant, may be pregnant, are breastfeeding or are trying to conceive, unless your doctor approves it. High preformed vitamin A intake in early pregnancy is teratogenic. The same conversation applies if you take a multivitamin containing vitamin A or use a prescription retinoid, because the total from every source is what counts.
Biotin, 5000 mcg per serving. Biotin at this level interferes with a wide range of laboratory immunoassays, including thyroid function tests and cardiac troponin. Interference can push a result in either direction. Tell the laboratory or the nurse that you take a 5000 mcg biotin supplement before blood is drawn.

5. Who Should Not Take It
Anyone under eighteen. Anyone pregnant, breastfeeding or trying to conceive without medical approval. Anyone taking a prescription retinoid without their prescriber's approval. Anyone with a known allergy to anything on the label. Anyone with liver disease. Anyone advised by a clinician to restrict vitamin A, biotin, folate or zinc.
6. Results Are Not Predictable
Individual results vary enormously and some people notice no change at all. Age, skin type, diet, sleep, sun exposure, hormones, medication, genetics and plain consistency all affect what happens. Nothing on this site is a promise of an outcome.

7. If Something Goes Wrong
Stop taking Gelagen and speak to a clinician if you develop a rash, itching, swelling of the face or throat, difficulty breathing, persistent nausea or unusual headaches. For anything severe, contact your local emergency number rather than emailing us.
Adverse events relating to a dietary supplement can also be reported to the FDA through its MedWatch programme.
